KIKinitiative’s very first project is the transformation of the outdated, unsafe, and age-limited playground at Padre Pio Orphanage in Bonoua, Côte d’Ivoire. Home to 69 children ages 0 to 17, the orphanage currently lacks a safe and inclusive space for older kids to play, grow, and simply be children.

We’re taking action by completely rehabilitating and expanding the playground to create a vibrant, age-appropriate playspace for every child. From resurfacing and repainting existing structures to installing brand-new equipment like a merry-go-round and obstacle course, this is more than a renovation; it’s a renewal of dignity, joy, and hope.

All work will be completed by local contractors, keeping the investment within the community.

This is not charity, it’s change. It’s a commitment to equity, mental health, and the right of every child to experience the power of play.
